To provide the Shire with a full understanding of the community infrastructure necessary to meet the identified leisure, cultural and recreational need for the next twenty years.   The process involved:

  • mapping and auditing all current infrastructure to determine capability and capacity.
  • A detailed consultation process was undertaken including:
    • Elected member briefings
    • Council Officers workshops
    • Community consultation workshops through selected place planning areas
    • Targeted consultation sessions related to identified projects.

  • Reporting against key themes and responding to those these on the basis of:
    • Identified need
    • Potential partnership
    • Funding requirement
    • Additional work required

An analysis of normative need and perceived need and rationale for intervention.
